As Fashion Week is well under way its a great time to see what trends are in store for this spring/summer. I will be doing two posts featuring 5 most wearable spring trends straight from the runway.
#1 Pretty Pastels.
A rainbow of soft springtime shades. Not everyone’s cup of tea but I have to say I am a huge fan of the pastel shades. Particularly the pinks and blues. But I thought Burberry portrayed the pastel trend beautifully with this lilac shirt dress.
#2 Boxy/Cropped Jackets.
A difficult trend to recreate I feel. But the boxy, cropped silhouette can be worn in a wide array of prints and textures. Pair with a fit-and-flare or body-con dress, tailored trousers, office-ready skirts, and (of course) your go-to jeans. Peter Pilotto captured this look effortlessly
#3 Contrast-Collar Button-Downs.
A menswear inspired trend but with a cool, contrasting collar and cuffs. Perfect work uniform. Just remember to do all those buttons up!
#4 Wide Leg Trousers.
A firm favourite of mine, such a classic statement look. They are so easy to wear and ultra chic. Don’t be fooled into thinking that this is only a trend for super tall supermodels. Look for a pair that is not quite so flared and go for a more higher waisted look to elongate your frame.
#5 Cool Bomber Jackets.
A piece for the more adventurous I feel, playing with colourful prints and luxe textures. But this shows its versatility in that it can be worn girly or in athletic chic.
I cant wait to see what the highstreet will be inspired to create! Look out for part 2 of this feature.
